Shanghai Grand Theatre
A beacon of culture in Shanghai.
Shanghai Grand Theatre is located on People's Square right in the heart of Shanghai. It was designed by the French architect Jean-Marie Charpentier in a combination of Eastern and Western styles. Its elegant and pure white facade shines like a beacon at night and resembles a crystal palace.
There are three theatres in the 10 storey building, and the Shanghai Grand Theatre hosts opera, ballet and symphony performances.
