Jin Mao Tower

An impressive height.
Once the tallest building in China, the Jinmao Tower was overtaken in 2008 by the World Financial Centre (492 m, 101 floors). Jinmao Tower is still an impressive size, measuring 420.5 m and has 88 floors, the number 8 being considered lucky in China.
It was designed in 1999 by an American company, and the building boasts a central shaft that opens onto a 150 m patio. The huge windows display the distances from the world's principal cities - 9250 kms from Paris!
The first 54 floors are occupied by offices and the last 33 belong to the luxurious Grand Hyatt.
